Drain problems that should not be ignored
A single slow sink is different from a whole-house backup. The number of affected fixtures, the lowest drain involved, and what happens when water is used are important clues.
- A toilet, tub, or floor drain overflowing
- Multiple fixtures draining slowly at the same time
- Gurgling toilets or drains when another fixture runs
- Water backing up into a tub or shower
- Repeated clogs that return after temporary clearing
- Foul odors or wastewater appearing at a drain
